Massie is getting 6 mil per, Trevathan 7-8, and Tracy porter 5, that means we have about 26 million to spend. DE is still a priority and we need to figure something out with the TE position. How the hell we going to spend 26 million?

Chalk up another bust for Jerry Angelo. Good move to get something in return though. He clearly wasn't in their plans for the future.

I got to thinking about the draft today, and what the team needs. I figured, the starters have to be determined, don't they? Obvious starters at their current positions are Cutler and Forte. After that, is there one?! The mere fact the question is feasible is serious cause for concern. FWIW, this is how I hope it plays out: LT - Gabe Carimi (comes back from injury and proves he is a stud) LG - Carl Nicks (a massive FA addition for the Bears) C - Roberto Garza (has to do it for one more year) RG - Lance Louis (gets rewarded for effort, moved back to where he is better suited and showed more promise) RT - Chris Williams (finally stays healthy - r…

Obviously for me the rookies starting in the O Line will be my #1 concern. Want to see Cutler succeed. Hopefully the WR's will all play. No excuses! This offense needs to look professional tonight. We'll get a good idea of who the coaches are likely to cut at various positions. Is Peppers playing? If so I sure hope we get more pass rush than last week. Even if he isn't, there's no excuse for that. Starters will play a quarter or so if history is any indication. Has Nerdman said otherwise? Would it be so bad to see Forte hit an actual hole the line opened for him? And, of course, let's stay healthy!

I am surprised the Bears are favored by almost a FG, which implies 5.5 pts on a neutral field. I am assuming they don't think Daniels is playing. The Bears will need to stop the run and take away McLaurin. This is going to be a tight game, probably decided by a turnover or a dumb call by the refs. I am going Bears 24-21.

It will be interesting to see what Dan Campbell actually does. Will he rest any key starters in what is a meaningless game for DET, who have lost 3 straight, and 4 out of 5? With a chance at the playoffs still on the line, they lost to MIN 23-10 and looked like they didn't care. My hope is DET doesn't risk Week 18 injuries for their core players and the Bears can handily win and put the game out of reach by halftime, then rest their own starters with the game in hand.
