Got this idea off another board and thought it would be interesting to see your thoughts. What one player would you like to see the Bears draft and why. Try to include some player information/draft profile. (Please keep to players that are reasonable at 18 and with no trades.) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Michael Oher OT 6-6 322 Ole Miss [RT] (Even though this scenerio is very unlikely, some mocks have had Oher sliding lately and the Bears have talked to him.) Oher would be a steal at 18, even though he is better suited to play the LT which the …

Here are the top FA & Draft prospects known to date for 2008. How do we fill out our needs at this position? We obviously have to make some assumptions as to our actual needs. I would say OK at center is solid. I think Tait moves to ORT and is solid there. We have several options at OG, resign R Brown, I did not like St. Clair at OT but think he might actually be an excellent OG, Garza? ..... One of these 3 would be a good fill at OG That means we need, IMO, an OG and LOT. Here are the top FA 2008 listed by one site. How many will actually hit FA is another question... I have not followed the College scene this year and theref…

I thought this was interesting: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-footba...cting-trade-out Although it probably won't impact the Bears since they will likely still draft in front of them.

Personally, from what I have read, seen, and heard about Ron Turner, he's a pretty great offensive mind. His problem is inconsistency, boneheaded/very conservative play calling at times, and lack of weapons on offense. However, that last point might be the biggest reason why Turner has never taken off as an OC. I don't really remember the Bears from 93-96 as I was very young, but IIRC, we didn't have much offensive talent during those years. And those Illini teams he coached didn't have much talent on offense either (but that is kind of his fault considering they were his recruiting classes. Plus, I don't know if this is the case, but he might have given play calling…

  8. Goodell and finances I agree with him. It's ridiculous. The amount these guys get paid is crazy, but to see a rookie get it is that much more insane. Some will argue about capitalism, but it's not an equal comparison. If it were, there would be bidding wars on each player coming straight out of college, there would be no cap, and the NY teams would be in the playoffs for 20 straight years like in baseball. It'll be so nice to see rookies actually have to do something to get paid, and not crap the bed, costing their franchise tons of money without production.

I know our running game was owning, but we can't run on 3rd and 5+ so many times. I was having 2005 QB on a leash flashbacks. When they actually let Kyle throw on crucial plays, he did a nice job and I want to see more of that in the future. I want to see if he can do what he did on those plays consistantly. As of now, I'm not sure he can win a game in which our running game can only sqeak out 65-80 yards. Also, even though it worked, I HATE THE FB DIVE! The only time I want the ball in Mckie's hands is a checkdown in the flats or a fumble recovery. Speaking of fumbles, has Kreutz been the problem this whole time? In closing, I CANNOT WAIT to see Til…

Since this season is already over other than for watching the progress of Caleb, I took a look at the 2025 opponents based on the current records and seeding. On paper, it will be one of the toughest schedules in the league again with only 5-6 "winnable" games. The strong division makes the entire schedule that much tougher. 11 games against teams at .500 or better, 6 games vs sub .500 teams. Home Detroit Lions 9-1 Green Bay Packers 7-3 Minnesota Vikings 8-2 Dallas Cowboys 3-7 (Dak will be back) New York Giants 2-8 (should be ez win) Cleveland Browns 2-8 (should be ez win) Pittsburgh Steelers 8-2 Carolina Panthers 3-7 (currently 4th in NFC S) (shou…

In preparation for the Senior Bowl, McClellin asked his agents Bruce and Ryan Tollner of REP1 Sports what he could do to improve his hand punch. They hooked him up with mixed martial arts trainer and television personality Jay Glazer and his partner, former Ultimate Fighting champion Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell. "He comes in looking like Richie Cunningham," Glazer said. "I told Chuck, 'Let's have some fun with him. Push him. Scare the hell out of him. Get your crazy eyes going and let's see if we can make him cower down.' We took turns on him in a Greco-Roman drill that is body on body work." Some of the other draft prospects Glazer has worked with have waved the…

I was thinking how damn good Minnesota is defensively, how great their o-line is, & their RB's are top-notch. They have around 15 million cap-available. While their secondary sucks, their most glaring weakness is QB & WR. I'd take Mark Bradley/Devin Hester or Moose over ANY WR Minny has. MAYBE Tavaris Jackson isn't horrible, but why take that chance? Sadly & ironically the best WR on the market is Bernard Berrian. (Randy Moss is returning to NE IMO) The best QB available is Rex Grossman. (Derek Anderson ain't going nowhere . . . . that makes Rex #1.) If I'm Minnesota, I do everything possible to address these two positions. I'd over-pay if …

  14. Puka on IR, Kupp going to be limited at best if he doesn't miss the game. Rams playing in the late slot on Sunday, then having to travel from LA to CHI. So Bears are going to have a rest edge. Rams are one of the worst teams in the NFL, especially with the injuries. The Bears lost against the Colts, but the Colts didn't win the game. At 1-2, this becomes an early must win as falling to 1-3 starts makes a huge hole to dig out of so early in the season. I feel like the Bears will rebound and play much better with home cooking. Bears 27-13.

  15. Here we go. I don't think I would ever imagine that I would be talking about the 9-3 1st Place Chicago Bears playing the 8-3-1 Green Bay Packers in Week 14, but here we are. This is going to be another weather game with game time temps in the teens, chance of snow and some light wind. Until this team loses, it is hard to bet against them right now. I am going to say 24-20 Bears in another one-score game.

This was posted on PFT tonight. I know Hoof won't be happy to read this, but I can't help being reminded of last year at this time when everyone was debating whether we'd draft Matt Forte with our 2nd or 3rd pick. Massaquoi To Bears? Posted by Aaron Wilson on April 15, 2009, 5:11 p.m. University of Georgia wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi has been projected as the Chicago Bears’ second-round draft pick with the 49th overall selection, according to Mike Mayock of NFL Network and Mel Kiper of ESPN. During a conference call today, Mayock, citing league sources, told reporters that Massaquoi is one of the fastest-rising prospects in the draft. Massaquoi …

The draft got us 2 really good players, the last 3 are a head scatcher. My suggestions for FA's. There is rumors of going after Cullen Jenkins, of which we will spend alot for. a good move Also I think we will go after a OG of which we wont spend alot on, so I am throwing in the name Duece Lutui. big guy and mean. Also Richard Mashall/CB/from carolina- didnt get a long term extention, and with being friends with Peppers, maybe we get him here. Wont be expensive

In my mind I see Bears doing following: Free Agent Starters: FA center (Falcons or Colts centers) FA guard (Chiefs guard is the big swing) DE (Chase Young is my big) FA guard (Zeitler) Depth moves: Depth DT (lower cost - but run stuffer type for depth behind Billings / ensure flexibility in draft) Depth WR (Tim Patrick) Depth Oline (swing tackle and guard - my guess is Pryor is back) This gives Bears a TON of flexibility when they get into draft as interior oline would be significantly revamped with pass rush also upgraded. Allows Bears to swing a few shots but be in a position where they could develop as we…

After this game the Bears schedule gets suddenly brutal. This is both a trap game and effectively a must win...Win this and you've gone 7-1 in the first half, and a 4-4 finish puts you in the playoffs almost guaranteed. Lose this, and Houston and San Francisco can make you a losing streak.
