if a miracle happens and we dump the garbage in chicago i don't want to bring in a coach with the mantle of GM. even with a cowher or shanny i think it would be a mistake to give either this dual role because it just doesn't work. that is not to say i want to handcuff either of these quality type coaches to have no say in FA personnel or especially the draft. at the least they should work with someone similar to the way cowher worked with colbert in pitt but in any event it is just too much for a coach to fill in both roles by himself and be good at either. also in my opinion we are going to have to shake up the scouting department along with any qualified gm we…

It is funny how the internet takes you down rabbit holes. First I see this article about 3 Bears players playing for the same H.S. : http://www.chicagobears.com/news/article-1...03-85c5d4e82962 then I start reading up on Onobun, who at the time of his signing, didn't seem to draw much attention (rightfully so). However, looking at his Pro Day: this guy seems to have all the physical attributes to succeed, but only played football one year in college (and still was drafted in the 6th round), so he is still raw. With his ties to Bennett, could this guy develop into our #2 pass catching TE eventually?

Ben Johnson - DET is 3rd in EPA/Play, 1st in TDs, 2nd in YPG, best OLine in NFL, Goff 4th in TD Passes, 2nd in Passing Yards 2. Joe Brady - BUF is 2nd in EPA/Play, 2nd in TDs, 8th in YPG, Allen is an alien 3. I'll be watching the dynamic involving Phillips. If he's there and silent or says very little, it's a sign he's been demoted behind the scenes. George should be the one doing the talking and then hand things off directly to Pace to make some comments and take questions. If "The Accountant" is more involved than that it signals he's still in the org chart above Pace and I'll read that as a huge negative. These two ought to be at an even place on the org chart with Phillips running nothing related to talent, coaching etc. I hope a reporter asks this simple question: "Who does Pace report to?" If the answer isn't George, we're screwed.

Per Brad Biggs of the Sun-Times Marty Booker has signed a two-year deal wit the Bear.

According to Scott Kascmar, NFL Writer, Jay Cutler is now 4th in the league among active players with 13 career GW TD passes. He is behind Brady and Manning but in front of Rodgers, Eli, and Brees. He also tweeted a chart that says with a minimum of 30 total games, Cutler is 4th *ALL-TIME* in winning percentage (51.4%) in games that are "kept close in the 4th quarter and OT" (he did not say exactly what 'kept close' is).
