Denver favored by a point; our offense seems to have the advantage and their defense has the edge. Very similar to the Rams game, except we are at home. No Ware for Denver, so that will help our offense, and Osweiler in at QB. He is probably better than Manning at this point, but he is error-prone and if we can get some pressure, I feel like we will have the edge. I know we've all penciled in OLB as a need in the first two rounds, but the more I look at the roster, the more I'm questioning it: - McPhee will be a starter and while he'll probably move all over, but figures to spend most of his time at OLB. - Pace has said Young, Allen, and Houston will all start as potential OLBs. I personally see Houston and probably Allen as a better fit at DE, but I can see Young locking down the other OLB. - Even if he doesn't, I think most of us see Christian Jones as a starter, and his best position is probably OLB in a 3-4, though maybe ILB isn't out of the question. - I can actually see David Bass being very effective as …

It is funny how the internet takes you down rabbit holes. First I see this article about 3 Bears players playing for the same H.S. : http://www.chicagobears.com/news/article-1...03-85c5d4e82962 then I start reading up on Onobun, who at the time of his signing, didn't seem to draw much attention (rightfully so). However, looking at his Pro Day: this guy seems to have all the physical attributes to succeed, but only played football one year in college (and still was drafted in the 6th round), so he is still raw. With his ties to Bennett, could this guy develop into our #2 pass catching TE eventually?

I'll be watching the dynamic involving Phillips. If he's there and silent or says very little, it's a sign he's been demoted behind the scenes. George should be the one doing the talking and then hand things off directly to Pace to make some comments and take questions. If "The Accountant" is more involved than that it signals he's still in the org chart above Pace and I'll read that as a huge negative. These two ought to be at an even place on the org chart with Phillips running nothing related to talent, coaching etc. I hope a reporter asks this simple question: "Who does Pace report to?" If the answer isn't George, we're screwed.

if a miracle happens and we dump the garbage in chicago i don't want to bring in a coach with the mantle of GM. even with a cowher or shanny i think it would be a mistake to give either this dual role because it just doesn't work. that is not to say i want to handcuff either of these quality type coaches to have no say in FA personnel or especially the draft. at the least they should work with someone similar to the way cowher worked with colbert in pitt but in any event it is just too much for a coach to fill in both roles by himself and be good at either. also in my opinion we are going to have to shake up the scouting department along with any qualified gm we…
