OK, so I saw a graphic about this and had to look into it. Apparently, since 2000, there has only been a single Super Bowl victory that had a top 10 WR on the roster who was drafted by the team he played for in the Super Bowl. That is Mike Evans. There have been 33 picks in the top 10 used for a WR since 2000. It is ugly. About time

The media disrespect continues. According to draft order, the bears finished 23rd ranked in the NFL. Not bad considering it was year two of a complete rebuild. We played the last half of theseason as a top fifteen team. Fast forward to the 2024 season and the preseason rankings have arrived. In comes The Athletic, ranking us at 24! As the slander and liable continues, please post rankings you find. I want to uproot this incompetence early, so we can nail them to it later.

Fields has 17 games to prove that he is H1M. I feel like he needs to show that in at least 75% of the games, or show some progress in those games. Right now he is 0/1, 0.0% on the season. He still has a lot of season left, but getting down 0/2 would be a big hole to dig out from. Every game that he starts, he basically sets a new record of futility at that amount of games started.

Jackson posted several cryptic messages on social media, but all allude to him being gone from Chicago. So there is the first domino and Whitehair is probably next. So I was looking back as far as the 2017 draft to see where QBs were slotted on the Draft Big Boards prior to the drafts. This one site takes a collection of most major big boards on the internet and collates them into a consensus board. I really like this as it takes out some biases and other factors. Some big boards are BPA, others are sort of slotted like their projected draft positions. It makes me sick that the Bears drafted Trubisky, AND traded up for him no less. There's a lot to talk about in the coming year but lets look at the good things that's happened in his first two years He took a terrible cap situation and turned that around in one year. We had the most cap space last year and top 9 this year. I think he cuts Whitehair and Jackson and adds 20 mil to our cap putting us top 5 . That's a win win. So looking at cap space and draft capital this offseason. The Bears are in such a rare position, it may be almost unprecedented. The team has the #1 pick, potentially a second top 10 pick, and over $60M in cap space. Right now, there are 8 teams who are already over the cap with their 2024 contracts.
