A bunch of different threads mention our future going forward so I thought I was just going to put here . Trying to list (IMO) core players, 2023 starters, and who wont be back. I start with the D and change subject matter as we move forward. DBs: EJac, he will be 30 with a cap hit of 17 mil and a dead money hit of 9.5 if you move on from him. I think he stays one more yr. He has played well this yr, not sure he's worth 17 mil but they have a better dead money situation in 2024 (5.5 mil.) if they want to move on. Jaylon Johnson, our best corner costs 1.7 mil, and in 2024 , 2 mil, he wont be going anywhere but not sure he has prov…

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/...t-this-weekend/ Bears, Forte will meet this weekend Posted by Josh Alper on February 24, 2012, 10:31 AM EST Reuters Contract talks between the Bears and running back Matt Forte will get underway at the combine this weekend. Albert Breer of the NFL Network reports that the team and Forte’s representatives will discuss a long-term contract in advance of Forte becoming a free agent. Forte’s made no secret of his desire for such a deal over the last year, but nothing happened while Jerry Angelo was the team’s General Manager. These will be the first meetings on the topic since Phil Emery replaced Angelo earlie…

Per Twitter: Mike Garafolo @MikeGarafolo 50 mins It's been relatively quiet on the Long front. Bears and Rams believed to be among the most interested. We'll see. The Trib says the Bears are also looking at Bushrod and Cook and might have to choose between the two. I say if the Bears can get out of FA with either Long or Bushrod, I'd consider it a success. I'd even pay a little more for Long, all things being equal. I don't love Cook, and think it might be more prudent to sign a second-tier potential starter at TE (I've always liked Delanie Walker) and spend the extra $ at LT and look at TE and OG in the first round of the draft.

As per PFT. Althogh he's visiting with the Cowboys and Lions. The Dolphins are also interested. Offensive guard is one area with have not addressed in free agency. (which leads me to suspect we plan on starting Carimi at guard). It would be huge if we could add Moore to stabilize the line. Although he plays at RG which means we'd need to move either him or Lance Louis to LG (assuming Louis resigns.)

I truly believe this is the year to address OL in the draft which will go along way in keeping the Bears competitive now and into the future without over spending in FA. In fact former GM - Bill Polian said today on the Doug Gottlieb show (ESPN Radio) that he would have never spent the $$$ on OG like the Tampa Bucks did for Carl Nicks, simply could not justify that money to that position. Assuming a true LT is not available at 19, I would not be disappointed if we could DRAFT a LG and C that could come in and start from day one. Then in 2013 the Bears can move up in the 1st round if needed to get that stud LT if Williams and Webb can not hold down the fort this y…

We play the AFC East and NFC West, while drawing the NYG and TB in the remaining games. GB gets WAS and ATL, DET gets DAL and CAR, and MIN gets PHI and NO. Otherwise we have common opponents. Based on home/away, we get NE, SEA, and LAR at home, and our toughest opponent away (out of division) is BUF. 2018 schedule: HOME MIN (13-3)* W DET (9-7) W GB (7-9) W LAR (11-5)* L SEA (9-7) L NE (13-3)* L NYJ (5-11) W TB (5-11) W AWAY MIN (13-3)* L DET (9-7) L GB (7-9) L ARZ (8-8) W SF (6-10) L BUF (9-7)* L MIA (6-10) W NYG (3-13) W *Playoff Teams I am hoping we can split the division (3-3), beat the Jets and Bucs at home,…

With the division champs locked in, we now know our 2019 schedule. When you win, the battles become tougher. Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions, NFC East-Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants and Washington Redskin, AFC West-Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, Oakland Raiders and Denver Broncos, NFC North division, New Orleans Saints and the Los Angeles Rams.

Here we go. We need to go into the bye at 4-1 or 5-0. The next 11 are tough. I am hoping 6-5 in that set, but 5-6 looks more realistic. Back to back Thursday Night games are in interesting. The Cowboys will also be coming off a Thanksgiving game like us and traveling to Chicago. We will be coming home from Detroit. So I think we have the edge there. The only back to back away games are Week 2 and 3 with Week 3 being a MNF game against Washington. That gives us an extra day of rest which helps on the back to back away games. Week 1: Green Bay Packers (NFL Kickoff Game) - W (after last year, I can't see us losing this game, HHCD Revenge Game) Week 2: at Denver Br…

Right now the Bears are tied for the 12th worst team in the league with CLE and JAX (oh joy). Since we have the toughest SOS, we get the lesser pick (14th) in the first (to OAK) and then the 13th pick in the 2nd, and the 12th pick in the 3rd (to OAK). If the season ended today, we would have the 45th pick in the 2nd round and somewhere around the 52nd pick from the Raiders. Without 3rd and 5th Round picks, the Bears almost have to use one of those to trade down. I would rather use the second one and do something like this: 1. Select #45 2. Trade #52 (OAK) for #60 + late 4th + late 5th 3. Select #60 (from trade) 4. Trade late 4th and Eagles 6th to move up i…
