Since there's nothing happening on the free-agency front any time in the foreseeable future, I thought we should have a running thread for all the draft prospects the Bears are putting through private workouts, and all the Pro Days they're sending coaches to. After all, it's the only thing that's going on between now and April. So I've listed all the workouts I could find so far, along with a quick report on the lesser-known guys and on which coaches the team sent to see each dude. Right now the Bears are tied for the 12th worst team in the league with CLE and JAX (oh joy). Since we have the toughest SOS, we get the lesser pick (14th) in the first (to OAK) and then the 13th pick in the 2nd, and the 12th pick in the 3rd (to OAK). If the season ended today, we would have the 45th pick in the 2nd round and somewhere around the 52nd pick from the Raiders. Without 3rd and 5th Round picks, the Bears almost have to use one of those to trade down. I would rather use the second one and do something like this: 1. Select #45 2. Gase has been a busy man. So far it looks like he has had/or will have interviews with the Giants, Browns, Dolphins, and Eagles. The Eagles interview tomorrow will be his 2nd with them. Can't imagine he returns.

I'm sick of his BS. He can't run the right routes... He can't return kicks... And now he can't even field a friggen punt! He's a guy who got the big check and started to play it safe. He's a pussy! I say bench his ass for a few games until he gets his head straight. I know we don't have anything else, really, at WR, but I'm sick of Hester's lack of production. He's got no heart.

Official Day 1 Thread. Draft day...let this be a draft that we look back on that brought tremendous value to the franchise!

He wouldn't be a bad backup, but obviously if Orton doesn't pan out the Bears would still be in need for a QB.

I was fully prepared for the complete overhaul of our roster after we gave away Brandon Marshall for next to nothing. I expected to see Cutler traded for little to no value as well as Forte. So far all we have done is a quick signing of McPhee to play OLB and some interest in signing veteran safeties. We've shown interest in a couple other players like C Wisniewski and ILB Mason Foster. Other than that we added Eddie Royal to the WR corps. This is not a complete overhaul of the roster. QB's have fallen in the past, what if he drops down to us? Do you want angelo to take him? Is he a franchise QB? I have this vision of ryan available and angelo having another david terrel moment, not really being prepared for the scenario.

Only played 3 games, but if you look at his raw tools, off the charts. Big time arm, big body, good athlete. Dude reminds me a bit of Cam. Obviously you are going purely off the measurables and interview since there isn't a lot of film on him but he'd be the type of guy I'd be intrigued out in the 3rd-4th (no idea where he is pegged and my guess is once teams see him throw 80 yards down the field he'll climb up draft boards).

Just reported on SC the Vikings, Bears, and Falcons (I think ATL was the 3rd team) all want McNabb. However, a journalist from Philly says they will keep him 1 more year. To make the Eagles change their mind, what would you give up for him? I'd sign and trade Rex and trade our 2nd and one of our 3rds.

1. Knox played well on ST. 2. Podlesh wasn't great, and Gould missing that cheapy is a tad scary. 3. The OL was brutal, but I liked what I saw out of Spencer. granted it was vs Buffalo's second teamers. If he isn't the starting C by week 1, I'd be shocked (move Garza to OG, bench Louis, Spencer at C). 4. Enderle was decent, Chris Harris had a huge hit, and Adams played a nice game at WR. Not that I give a s***, but Fantuz didn't touch the field and Sanzenbacher didn't catch a pass. 5. I loved the way Barber ran. Okoye was a beast tonight as well.
