Kiper's Bears Mock
I'd take that draft, but put me in the line with all the "Brohm won't be there" guys.

Schedule is out!!!!!
Gives me a good shot at seeing Da Beloved play on TV down here!

Jake Long in talks with Fins
I hope the Fins sign him and soon. And that it is a deal lower than last year's no. 1. I also read that with the time cut this year in every pick, teams will be looking to arrange their trades ahead of time. That would make me happy as things always take until teams get on the clock.

Bears, All-Time Roster
Agree. Ryan will never win any social graces award!
-
Parting with Benson
You're probably right Nfo. Wolfe probably will always be a third down back. And I just can't see us gettig rid of our best ST player in AP, especially after wer lost some guys in that unit. Benso is going to get another chance this year to prove he can do it. And I think the speculation about drafting an RB on day one comes from all those who have written Benson off as a bust. I don't think Lovie or JA have done that yet.
-
THIS is why the Bears MUST DRAFT OL
Well presented jason. You are preaching to the chior here. I would like to see us pick up an RB AFTER getting OL as Benson's latest injury may necesitate another RB in the mix.
-
I'm coming to terms...
And you know there isn't a snowball's chance that JA is going to trade up that far to get him. Mendenhall would be a great addition, but I'm in the camp that says we gotta have Oline help and if one of the big OTs are there at 14 I want us to take him.
-
I'm coming to terms...
It all starts in the trenches. We need an OL upgrade in the worst way. Either trade up and get Long, hope Clady makes it to 14 or trade down and take Otah, Williams or. . . .

Okay, I have to know
Ahmen to that brletich!!
-
A look at numbers of recent contracts
Agree on that Prphet. In a year where FA was lean, this looks like good sense from JA. And I too am interested in what we can get from the cuts that will happen prior to the start of the season.

Brendon to Baltimore
We've still got a long way to go in the offseason. And who was-is there to sign that was really value? Everyone agrees that deals for solid players at best have been inflated this year. So JA waits for someone we want AND think is good value, and we have $ for the rookies. Then there are cuts that happen and waiver wires. Yeah, Brendon was a value, but not at the Ravens' price. Good luck to ya in Baltimore.

Brandon Lloyd
God willing! And I'll be praying for it! (You know it's a rib?! But just couldn't resist. )
-
Bears sign Brandon Lloyd
Gotta agree Nfo. While everyone is throwing a hissy fit about losing Berrian and him getting over paid, they then turn around and bash JA for signing someone at reasonable $ and with just as much potential as Berrian. Huh? Go figure.

Bears just might be interested in Jones
My first read of the day and you definitely got me laughing Mongo ! "agree with Terra Tor more often" wish I'd said that!
-
Building for 2009?
I agree with you Mongo. Of course, the ultimate goal is to win the Super Bowl. But having a winning season is good, making the playoffs is better, winning in the playoffs is great and winning the Super Bowl is nirvana! But realistically, very few teams ever win or even get back to the Super Bowl two years in a row. I beleive that I read some remarks from Urlacher after the Super Bowl loss that boiled down to the fact that it was great to be there, only one team can win, but they had a successful season. Now, while I do think Url could use a bit more fire in his belly, success is winning, and ultimate success is winning the Super Bowl, but not the only guage of success, IMdO.

Anyone else disgusted by Favre's weeping today?
It lies somewhere in between the two extremes for me. Yeah, Favre proved to be a great QB and led them to the Super Bowl, but please. His non committal pretty much held the team hostage for the past several offseasons. He's about as self-centered and egolomaniacal as the rest of the overpaid "heroes". And I couldn't give a shite about him crying. He's just a good player that has lost it. Go home and mow the grass Brett!
-
Ryan Clady
If JA traded up to get him I would not complain. But I'm a Bear fan, so I'm also resigned to him wearing another uni this season.
-
Ryan Clady
Sure hope that "guru" lives up to his billing! Oh yes, I would love to hear Bears take Clady on draft day!

Who is your BEARS sleeper/suprise contributors for 2008?
Okay, so maybe they're not surprises. Surprises I'll say Bradley on O and McGowan on D.
-
Who is your BEARS sleeper/suprise contributors for 2008?
Dusty on D and Olsen on O.

Favre retires
Man, I'm throwing up! What a bunch!

Hate to be Johnny Raincloud here but
Well az, look on the bright side. At least Terra warned us with the thread title. As opposed to the threads of mythical injuries to everyone on the team that he posted on the other board.

Bears rescind offer to Brendon
Ditto that, Hester. He was a solid contributor on STs. Hope we can fill the void.

Bears Resign Lance Briggs
You too bradjock? Connor seems to be more up-to-date than the tickers at Fox or SI.com! Oh, and I'm glad we got Briggs back. And one can only dream that Brown, Harris, Dusty, Url, etc., will stay healthy and bring the D back to its respectable position. And there's still time to bring in some FA, so I'm waiting for Connor's next scoop!

Gilmore signs with TB
His blocking will be missed, but yeah, we have two guys who can catch the ball so he was made expendable. My mom is in Tampa and a big Bucs fan, so I'll continue to hear about him. Wish him luck!
