Looks like there's some merit to the earlier post... http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...-bear05.article Team thrift foils Angelo, Kirwan says BEARS | NFL Radio analyst claims free-agent pursuit curtailed by spending limits Recommend (7) Comments March 5, 2009 BY BRAD BIGGS bbiggs@suntimes.com Free agency is a week old today, and so far the Bears have only versatile offensive lineman Frank Omiyale -- with one career start -- to show for it. They're not the only team that has done more window shopping than buying, a product of a diluted free-agent pool and a weakened economy that has some organizations tightening their bel…

I have heard many mention that there sources state, Marshall wont be brought back next year, that they will have to eat 5.5 million and have no problem with doing that. I think he is a good football player but is too erratic personally that just keeps everything in chaos on a bad team.

7 point favorites, at home, coming off a huge emotional win. We need a win to keep our slim playoff hopes alive and get back to .500. I am going to go out on a limb and say: Bears 24 - 49ers 13

I find it interesting that there are those of us who are thrilled with the draft no matter what we do, and those who hate it no matter what we do. Our o-line, WR's, D-line, D-backfield, and running-back situtation are all significantly better. It's perplexing why we made a statement in not drafting a QB, but I'm sure we had our reasons. Either way, I had a great time spending about 12 hours message boarding about the Bears. Thanks to all of you who participated. Great draft.

  7. A 9-3 team is playing at a 4-8 team and is only favored by 3? A 5-win disparity and only a 3 point line is pretty interesting. Vegas really thinks this game is going to be close. The Bears couldn't win with a +3 turnover margin and double the TOP, so if they want to win this game they more than likely are going to have to do it without that large of a turnover margin and TOP. DET ended up with more total yards, 8-11 on 3rd Downs, a 5.7 yards per play, so they were way more efficient. Montgomery can't average 6.3 yards a carry and they need to shutdown St. Brown. He always seems to burn the Bears. LaPorta was huge this week but only had 3-18 against the Bears. …

This is going to be the hot topic all off-season and maybe into the season. Bears are starting it off correctly by keeping Darnell Wright at RT. That leaves us with a 3 way battle at LT. https://bearswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/bears/2025/05/01/bears-ozzy-trapilo-will-play-left-tackle/83388491007/

Option 3 for keepers. Keep anyone player and lose draft pick of round that player was drafted in by YOU. No trades. Round 6 cutoff. If you dont want to keep anyone you get a supplementary pick before anyone with a keeper and if there are more than one without than they get ordered by final standings. Option 4. Same as 3 but if you choose you can keep 2.

  13. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writ...qb.draft/1.html The three teams I didn't like: 1. Chicago. The Bears had 12 draft choices this year. No quarterback picked. Chicago had nine draft choices in 2007. No quarterback picked. Chicago had seven draft choices in 2006. Three years with a quarterback need, 28 draft choices, and never a passer picked. This isn't odd. It's negligent. The thing that drives me craziest about the draft is when you see a team with talent not doing enough to bolster the most important position on the field, over and over and over again. With Chad Henne, who absolutely should have been a first-rounder, and solid guy Brian Bro…

i'll go ahead and come out and say I want McNabb in the offseason. We can draft a qb in the 4th or 5th round. With the first pick, we have to get a skilled player, if that's wr or rb, but not a qb. Whoever is at the top of the board, we draft. We could address the o-line in free agency. This thread was started to get the "WE WANT MCNABB" campaign rolling. i will appoint myself the campaign manger....BTW.......I hate Benson

Looking at some of the talk about Mendenhall entering the draft, I got to wondering. What sort of RB do we want to add to the team to compete w/ Benson. Now, I know some of you want to simply write Benson out of the picture, but I do not believe that is the teams plans. So assume for this argument we are simply looking to add competition for Benson. Do we wan to add a RB similar to Benson? I am talking about style. A north/south runner that has size and can run well up the middle. Or do we look for more of a speedy, shifty back that is known for catching as well as receiving? I know Jason would like to add a homerun hitter, but is that the sort of RB we …

Would be really nice not to have Hasselbeck for Week 3. Per Rotoworld:

  17. Chicago Tribune article: Fred Mitchell 10:38 p.m. CDT, May 3, 2013 The Bears have gone out of their way this offseason to find a reliable left tackle and to stabilize the entire offensive line. Meanwhile, last year's starting left tackle — J'Marcus Webb — has been spending the offseason trying to find himself and remain sober. The Bears signed free-agent veteran left tackle Jermon Bushrod and invested a first-round NFL draft pick on 6-foot-6, 313-pound guard Kyle Long, whom they think will be able to play either tackle position eventually. Several other offensive linemen have been acquired to generate competition during training camp. …

Yes, I would actually do it. Whether you look at my username and sig and don't believe me that I want to make this work, I want this to happen. I've heard all the dopes say we could get like one team's pick for every round, which is obviously BS. But what could we actually get? I'm thinkin' a 2nd and a 3rd from a team. So we'd then have 1 1st, 2 2nds, 3 3rds, a 4th, a 5th, a 6th, and a 7th. Now, we can make that Derek Anderson trade and give up a 1st and a 3rd (no, we can't only give up 1 pick. if you want to try that, good luck getting him). With the Anderson trade, we now have a 2 2nds, 2 3rds, a 4th, a 5th, a 6th, and a 7th, which is still great! What do…
