OK, the combine is over, and some pro days have occurred. Who are you picking, and why, as the next QB for the Chicago Bears?

  2. The Bears are favored!!!!!, by 2.5, which means on an neutral field, HOU would be -0.5 lol. Interestingly enough, this team is like the Spiderman meme with the Bears. Both have the same amount of pts scored, are near the bottom in the league in yards (Bears 32, Texans 28), have almost the same amount of pts against, same amount of sacks (5), and both teams cannot stop the run (Bears 32, Texans 30). The biggest differences are the Bears have a much better rushing game (8 v 27), which plays into the Texans' weakness, and the Texans give up a ton more passing yds (270 vs 183), good for a Fields get right game. Just based on yardage, the Texans do nothing wel…

A bunch of different threads mention our future going forward so I thought I was just going to put here . Trying to list (IMO) core players, 2023 starters, and who wont be back. I start with the D and change subject matter as we move forward. DBs: EJac, he will be 30 with a cap hit of 17 mil and a dead money hit of 9.5 if you move on from him. I think he stays one more yr. He has played well this yr, not sure he's worth 17 mil but they have a better dead money situation in 2024 (5.5 mil.) if they want to move on. Jaylon Johnson, our best corner costs 1.7 mil, and in 2024 , 2 mil, he wont be going anywhere but not sure he has prov…

In the NFC, only one division essentially up for grabs. PHI, MIN, SF are already in with DAL as the WC1. NFC South 1. TB 7-8 (CAR, ATL) wins out or wins 1 and CAR and NO lose 1 each. 2. CAR 6-9 (TB, @NO) needs to win out 3. NO 6-9 (@PHI, CAR) needs to win out and have TB lose 2 Week 17 TB vs CAR is basically for the Division title. If CAR wins, they have the tie breaker against TB and NO. NFC Wild Card 2. NYG 8-6-1 (IND, @PHI) - needs to win of 1 of 2 to get in. 3. WAS 7-7-1 (CLE, DAL) - needs to win out, or win 1 and have SEA, DET, and GB all lose one game each. --------------- 4. SEA 7-8 (NYJ, LAR) - needs to win out and have WAS to lose 1 of …

So most stats are meaningless. Most of the preseason stats leaders never amount to anything in the league. However, I tried to see if there were any trends from players that Fields has been comp'd to in terms of career progression (Year 3 leap, gets true WR1, etc). This is what I found, it might be completely irrelevant, but interesting nonetheless: Preseason Comp% J. Allen - 54.5%, 64.3%, 76.9% (Diggs), 100% L. Jackson - 50%, 62.5%, 75% J. Hurts - 42.9%, 100% (Brown) T. Tagovailoa - 70.6%, 80% (Hill) J. Fields - 61.2%, 76.7%, 100% (Moore) Everyone of these QBs improved their comp% YoY in their first few years. One other note, Fields had a be…

I’m in the UK, and cannot find anywhere to watch William’s work out, other than it’s being shown later on NFL Network. Is anyone seen the work out? Is there any chance that Rice is available in the 3rd round and would anyone take him. If he’s 70% of, Jerry, he must be work taking.

Bears making a trade with Rams for LG Jonah Jackson One of the better pulling guards if he can stay healthy. A 2025 6th round pick is it. This helps fill a need and costs a pick that would have been a developmental player at best.

No thread this year. Kinda indicates our lack of desperation to find talent on the fringes on the NFL world, which is a good sign. https://www.windycitygridiron.com/2025/4/26/24417474/chicago-bears-2025-undrafted-free-agent-news-and-rumor-tracker-udfa-nfl-draft These UDFAs are reported to have signed with the Bears. After watching the MNF game I found myself wondering if the Packers did Trubisky a bit of a favor by revealing the defensive game plan they'll be using against us. They seemed to be blitzing often and from all angles trying to force some mistakes like New Orleans was able to do. I didn't get to see the game against the Packers earlier in the year so perhaps this is what they did there against Glennon? Regardless, I can't see why they wouldn't go after us in the same manner except we have a better running game than Detroit. Trubisky will finally need to get the ball out on a hot read but doing so could be more challenging with another new WR, Inman, on the field. B…

We were called out on national tv yet again. THis embarassing loss holds all the info we need to know about the state of Chicago pro football... 1. We have nothing on the lines. It's all won and lost in the trenches and we have nothing. The O Line is a joke, and for all the hoopla around Marinelli, hte D line is a joke. Jason, nfo and a ton of other posters have been clammoring for O Line in the draft to the point where suggestions were made that every single pick be the line. That idea is not silly, it's a virtual must now... 2. We miss Urlacher. If not just for his speed and knowledge, his fire is sorely needed out on that field. Briggs is great, but d…

I have a friend who is both a bears fan and in the sports media. He is definitely an insider, at least in so far as media guys go. He sent us some comments about Martz. For the record, he has in the past been a Martz advocate, so he is not biased on this. - Martz was told during the game to run the ball more but he refused. Lovie has since "read Martz the riot act, both about the play calling and ignoring Lovie's instructions in game. Some around Halas are saying that if things don't change, Martz could actually be fired in the bye week. Wow. If true, that is really shocking. While I still have a hard time believing we would fire Martz mid-season (a) if…

Damn the Bears are getting hammered in the preseason rankings, not that they mean much, but what are these "experts" seeing that we are not? All indications point to at least some improvement from last year. I was figuring 9-7 or 10-6 was completely reasonable. Don Banks from SI.com has us at #26, behind the likes of Washington, Seattle, and Oakland. He is basically saying we are a 5-6 win team. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/writ...mp.3/index.html ESPN has us at #21 which is a little better, but that is basically saying we are the same team as last year. Don't they realize we essentially upgraded 3 spots on the Defense with potential Pro Bowle…

I thought we could use a thread to discuss the current games, if anyone is watching. The Indy game was crazy, Luck got some luck when Brown fumbled in the Red Zone and the ball bounced off a players helmet right to Luck who dove into the endzone. Glad to see Philly lose, but their offensive performance against the Saints really showed how bad our defense was. Brees throws 2 INTs and wins. McCoy longest run was 11 yards. GO SF!!!!

The bears who have always been a Defensive Minded Team is now an Offensive minded team, which is the trend of the NFL. The team that has the Best D beats the shit out of the team with the Best O. Last years SB had two Defensive Minded teams in the SB. If the Bears can some how get the D fixed to be at least in the TOP 15 with a Top 10 O I will like our chances.

Not saying they are the same or he is as good, but Nall has vision and sneaky speed. I think he will become a weapon for the Bears. I am surprised he wasn't drafted and glad he chose us. He must have seen the fit also. Below is a clip of him in action.

What a good start on offense 3 plays TD and no negative plays. But damn does our kicking game suck

  19. Started by adam,

This is it. Foles and Graham? That's the answer. We get an upgrade with Quinn over Floyd, a slight downgrade at rotational ILB, and probably CB and S. Our TE room is still weak and we have no RG and our OT's suck. Adding Foles did nothing to improve QB unless you consider him an upgrade over Daniel. I feel like this is it for Pace. He failed on every first-round pick outside of Smith and the jury is still out on him after that weird situation last year. I can see Smith being one of those players that retires young. White, Floyd, Trubisky, and Shaheen. Epic early draft failures. Then he gives up the remaining capital for Mack, which didn't win us anything. Now we are …

  20. We went from being 3 point dogs to 5.5 favorites after Week 1. This is a game we have to win. The Steelers completely shut down Barkley (15 carries for 6 yards). They literally had 2x spies on him the entire game (and it worked). They made Jones beat them and he threw 2 INTs and was sacked 3 times. Slayton was their secret weapon with 2 TDs but the game was out of hand at 26-10, so one of those was in garbage time. Pittsburgh was able to run using their backup RB (Snell), so that is promising for the Bears who averaged over 5 YPC against Detroit. The Giants are playing on short rest after playing MNF at home. So they had one less day of rest and prep, plu…
