Bearstalk

Here we go! It was great seeing Butkus! Browns are on the clock . . .

Big day today! Draft Picks: Round 4: picks #19 (117) #26 (124) #29 (127) Round 5: pick #11 (150) Round 6: picks #10 (185) & #31 (206) Round 7: pick #9 (230) I'm glad it's raining here in Central Illinois so I have the perfect excuse to waste the entire day following the draft!

Alright - lets this be a draft we look back on as one that built upon the initial foundation to send this franchise to sustained excellence! Lets go!

Bears get an extra 6th for Shaheen, bumped up from a 7th, they now have 4 picks in the 6th and 8 overall: 1st - 20th 2nd - 52nd 3rd - 83rd 4th - None 5th - 164th 6th - 204th, 208th, 221st, 228th 7th - None

In an attempt to quickly forget the Texans game... Go to 8-2.

Was watching the replay this morning and heard this too. Could've swore it sounded like Jay was expressing his displeasure. Or was it that little Harry Potter looking troll that is always following him around when the O is off the field? Either way I feel Martz' days are numbered in Chicago. http://m.bleacherreport.com/articles/89782...day-night-video

Hester was the only Bear to make it. Surprised some others didn't even make 2nd team honors. No Briggs or Harris. http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8...mp;confirm=true

Yes boys and girls, another year has passed and once again, it's time for the NFL Draft. This thread can be used to post which team picks who, talk about trades, etc. Please, do not start a new thread for every bit of news, just put it in here! Unfortunately I have baseball practice at 4, and won't get back until 9 tonight. So, I will not be able to enjoy the draft live, or discuss it with you guys. However, I will be back on tonight to provide my thoughts! Go Bears!

Official Petition to Stop Roy Williams From Doing the First Down Dance | We're bringing attention to a great cause...getting Roy to stop doing that damn 1st down dance, all the while helping charity! I've donated $1.11 in honor of Roy. Good cause, good premise, hopefully the dance is reserved for just touchdowns.

Last year we had a thread for all the rumblings that went on at the Senior Bowl, perhaps we can do that again this year, mods pin this if you agree. Anyway, per Biggs Iowa TE CJ Fiedorowicz said first team he met with at Senior Bowl was #Bears I'm somewhat intrigued by them even talking to a potential "impact" TE. By impact I mean a player who will contribute. Right now C.J. is slotted in the 3-4 round range, which if the Bears fix a good deal of their defensive problems in FA and then grab another couple defensive guys to start the draft I'd love to see them grab another big TE. I'd prefer they wait and take a guy like Jordan Navjar, who was unde…

G-Men vs Pats in Arizona. Prediction: Pats by 17.

Bears are 4-2 at the bye.

Per Adam Schefter on his Twitter account. Orlando Pace is out today and so is Devin Hester. Bears inactives are Iglesias, steltz, hester, moore, june, toeainia, pace and gilbert. Schefter also reported that Ryan Pickett is out for the Packers and that BJ Raji will make his 1st career start.

Ok, so I know this goes without saying and most teams and their fans can complain about the officials, but there is no denying the Bears are on the short end of these calls more times than not. Check out some of these calls/no-calls that have cost the Bears points.

The no-call pass interference in the New England/Carolina game could end up costing us a playoff spot. The most-watched sport in the US should have full-time referees who know what they are doing and can actually keep up with the athletes on the field. Peace

There are a few OL UFA's that will be out there in March. OT William Beatty Branden Albert Ryan Clady Jake Long Jermon Bushrod OG Kory Lichtensteiger Andy Levitre Kevin Boothe Man, any one of the first 5 and one of the last 3 would look terrific on the Bears in September, no?

Just some quick listings of the guys who we tossed money at 1. Lance Briggs - $12M Guaranteed: Dominant 2. Devin Hester - $15M Guaranteed: Playing very well at WR, hasnt had much of a hint at a return 3. Brian Urlacher - $9M Extended: Will always be our best player 4. Tommie Harris - $45M Contract: Absolutely horrid performances, hurt yet again, nice fumble yesterday, makin an ass of himself the past few weeks 5. Nate Vasher - $?M: Still think we show our weakness when hes not out there, hurt again 6. Charles Tillman - $?M: Until yesterday played very well and made game changing plays, hurt 7. Chris Williams - $9M Guaranteed: Hurt and hasnt stepped on an …

I realize that it may seem waaaaaaaaaay early for this, but Yahoo has opened Fantasy Football 2010 for entrance. I'm wondering if people are interested in joining yet. It might just give us another time waster of football related things to talk about. I've already renewed the league Talkbears 2 and set a draft time of Sept 5th at 8:00pm. Draft invites have been sent to all of last year's teams. I'm looking forward to seeing where the Bears WRs are ranked. Any thoughts?

Stedman Bailey, WR, West Virginia --Bailey might have the best combination of speed and skill in this draft, along with his former teammate, Tavon Austin. 4. Khaseem Greene, OLB, Rutgers --Lett…
