Bearstalk

Are you a diehard Chicago Bears fan? If so, you've found the spot to discuss all things Chicago Bears. Discuss the Monster of the Midway right here as the Bears look to get back on track in 2024 and take the North and never give it back! Flaming is not allowed and all such posts will be deleted. Try to keep it clean and most importantly BEAR DOWN! #BEARS #CHICAGOBEARS #BEARDOWN

  1. A 9-3 team is playing at a 4-8 team and is only favored by 3? A 5-win disparity and only a 3 point line is pretty interesting. Vegas really thinks this game is going to be close. The Bears couldn't win with a +3 turnover margin and double the TOP, so if they want to win this game they more than likely are going to have to do it without that large of a turnover margin and TOP. DET ended up with more total yards, 8-11 on 3rd Downs, a 5.7 yards per play, so they were way more efficient. Montgomery can't average 6.3 yards a carry and they need to shutdown St. Brown. He always seems to burn the Bears. LaPorta was huge this week but only had 3-18 against the Bears. …

Muhammad has a great year, comes here, sucks, gets released, and has a 900 yard year. Maybe it's just no WR will strive here. Would trading what could potentially be our future (1st and a 3rd + his $10+ million extension) for Boldin be a waste? Thoughts?

NFL Network showed video from MC and A lot of balls from Cutler was bouncing off everyones hands. I think I saw Forte have the most bounce off him.

Why did the Bears front office lie about this instead of telling the truth from the beginning. This actually makes the situation look worse. I would love to hear Angelo's explanation of this. Peace http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...s082408.article

WSCR is reporting that Rod Marinelli is the new defensive coordinator. Last year's most valuable free agent acquisition will join this year's most valuable free agent acquisition as a coordinator for the team. To quote my idol, Charlie Brown, "Good Grief".

Jen Lada ‏@JenLada 21m21 minutes ago Hearing the #Bears are close on a 3 yr deal w/ Mason Foster. ILB has been a FA target since beginning. #NFLFreeAgency Jen Lada ‏@JenLada 20m20 minutes ago New Bears DB coach Ed Donatell was Foster's Def Coordinator at Washington in 2008. LB was Huskies defensive MVP that season. Jen had been right about Rolle. Would be a good signing. Read he struggled in coverage last year, but also read somewhere else that he was real good the year before. Young, talented, immediate star…

I can see either any of the three RBs currently on roster being the primary RB, but I don't think any will get a ton of carries. I think it'll be a three-headed monster this year, with Forte slowly getting more carries by year's end. What I'd love to see is Wolfe get the majority of the carries in the beginning of the year. We've already seen what Peterson can do, and I love the guy, but he's not capable of doing anything spectacular in the NFL from what we've seen. Wolfe, on the other hand, could cause some serious damage and break off long runs/catches. He's a wild card, a guy that the defense could have problems with. What do you want to see? What do you…

I have to say that despite what the stats say for yesterday that I am starting to see good things from this starting unit. I was glad that they decided to keep Lance Louis in there in to the 3rd. We saw some very good things from this unit like the beautiful blocks by Louis and Kruetz and Greg Olsen sealing his block as well to spring Forte for his 89 yd run. We also saw the bad. i.e. Chris Williams. Wimbley ate him up for dinner last night.

Nix - 19.2 QBR - 176 yds, 1 TD, 2 INT, 1 sack, and 18 rushing yards + 1 fumble lost. 194 Total Yards. Won. A few things to note, Nix saw the 2nd lowest Pressure Rate of any QB this week at 18.6%, while Daniels saw the 3rd lowest Pressure Rate at 21.6%. Those two QBs had it easy, yet Nix looked really really bad for a QB at home in the 2nd year of the same …

  14. This team is 4-5 and with better closing efforts against Minnesota and Detroit, we're 6-3 and leading the division. Not saying this team isn't flawed because it is and they'd likely lose in the playoffs pretty quick. But the NFC is pretty lousy so who knows? Just WIN baby. Just win.

  15. http://chicagobearsfanforum.com/blog/?p=248 There is an old saying which everyone knows. It goes, “Curiosity killed the cat.” But there are times when I wonder if we football fans take this saying too far. This was never more evident to me than when I heard other Bear fans comment on the ”Spygate” situation in New England. This seems to me to be a rich, multifaceted story that many fans should be interested in. But I often find that instead, quite a number of those I've talked to would rather see it die a quiet death, never to rear its head again. The only thing I can figure is that many fans treat the NFL as a league as they do their own teams. Bear fans a…

per walterfootball.com Don't how credible Charlie Campbell is, but this makes for great talk regardless. If they traded way up for Blackmon and signed Finley, that would be a GREAT offseason. However, I'd rather see them hold onto the picks it'd take to get Blackmon and use those to get younger on D and better on O. Trading 2 first rounds + a 2nd is a bit much for an unknown commodity. Blackmon would be an offensive improvement obviously, but that's just 1 guy and leaves a lot to be desired on the OL.

This is going to be the hot topic all off-season and maybe into the season. Bears are starting it off correctly by keeping Darnell Wright at RT. That leaves us with a 3 way battle at LT. https://bearswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/bears/2025/05/01/bears-ozzy-trapilo-will-play-left-tackle/83388491007/

NFL Network Charlie Casserly says he's hearing quite a bit about the Bears liking Trubisky. This is the start of the disinformation period before the draft but it's also about the time last year when we first started hearing the Bears liked Leonard Floyd. I thought all that was smoke.
