Let me preface this by saying: 1. I live in Central Illinois where everyone is a Bear fan. I don't have to deal with a jack-ass Packer neighbor, co-workers, etc.. 2. If the Packers win it gives the Bears some credibility that they lost to the champs . . . and it's real tough for a champ to repeat which makes next slightly easier Since it appears it will be Pittsburgh, I find it impossible to root for a team that has won it twice in the last decade and are QB'ed by an alleged rapist. Aside from being the Bears #1 rivals, I have no grudge against them this time of year.

I know it's early, but I'm sick of talking about week 2. Time to try my luck with the gamethreads again (last year, whether my prediction was a Bears W or L, the Bears seemed to play well). Only Booker is lower at 42.9.

Throughout last night's game there were several references to Rich Gannon and Josh McCown. Most of which equated to the term Jon Gruden made that "McCown has travelled a hard road to get where he is, much like Rich Gannon". Of course Gruden would have some insight since Gannon was his QB during much his tenure in Oakland before going to TB. As was quoted in news sources: "Gannon thrived in Gruden's West Coast offense" (Wikipedia). Coincidently, Marc Trestman was the OC for Oakland during their Super Bowl run of 2004 and a year removed from Gannon's NFL MVP win. The thought now is, could McCown be the newest version of Gannon? DRAFT At pick #14 we have the chance at some fantastic players. My favorite is Kenny Phillips, we have no safeties. Also, tho it wont happen a RB like John Stewart or Mendenhall would be great. NO FRIGGIN OL. Also, i have a feeling we may select a QB if woodson is still there. If we have a chance at some of the players mentioned and we take some OL im gonna flip. Is Turner that bad or is his failure also a by product of the poor OL play? Personally, I think it is somewhat the OLs poor play, but am less than impressed with his play calling. I posed this question in another thread but decided to start a new one hoping for some feedback. QUESTION - If we were to fire Turner (maybe some college wants a new HC, LOL) then who would you want to come in as a new OC? There is going to be some good candidates cut loose when some HCget fired and their staffs are released. ANY IDEAS?

Let's put down the lemon drops and drop the sour face for a bit and get the game face ready. Bears at Green Bay, we won last trip there. Lets take a page out of that night and bring back that energy. Rodgers took a hit that game and didn't get back up. Mel Tucker better bring some pressure packages because our first match up was a mistake on avoiding sending the blitz.

QB - The one thing about Orton I have seen that I love is pocket presence. He simply seems to have a better feel for the pocket. When a defender is closing in on him, he moves to avoid the rush w/o taking his eyes off the field. That is a huge plus. W/ that said, his accuracy leaves much to be desired and while he has arm strength, I do not like how much of a windup he has. Reminds me of Leftwich. I like him for depth, but no more than that. This is still a huge need. I think Rex is gone. Still not sure if this will be McNabb, a rookie or what, but this is a position that must be addressed. McNabb is still my top choice, if he does in fact become tradable.…

Earlier today they had an article dedicated to saying the Bears took Long with Suh in mind. Well duh. They took him with lots of D Linemen in mind, you dolts. I assume Carimi makes the lineup assuming he's healthy. And that's not certain.

I still don't know what the gameplan was for Turner coming into the game; usually you can see what most teams want to do from snap 1. With little time to throw its pretty tough to complete a high % of your passes. The offense sucks, Turner sucks, Lovie sucks, end of story. The D looked pretty good. How does Turner still have a job?

I am tired of these players not wanting to play under the contracts they signed, and am ready to deal w/ the situation. Urlacher - NO desperatly wants to upgrade at LB, and has even been talked about trading up in this weak LB draft to get Rivers. Instead, we offer them one of the best LBs in the game. NO sends us their 1st (10th overall) and 3rd. Harris - Cincy needs a DT in the worst way, and is also talking about trading up as Ellis may not fall to them, and the dropoff after Ellis is deep.
